Winter Solstice Glow Hike

Join Rick Severn, DHC Education Chair and board member to celebrate the Winter Solstice with this leisurely ramble to Nimbus Knob.
We'll start at the 8th Ave Trailhead (7500E 8th Ave.) to the Dishman Hills Natural Area. Enjoy the light show that is Spokane and Spokane Valley while learning about the history of the Dishman Hills. We will be walking in the dark on the longest night of the year, so bring plenty of light to illuminate your way. Be prepared for a variety of trail surfaces and conditions on this 2 mile moderately difficult ramble. Elev. gain 340 ft. Hiking poles, microspikes or YakTraks along with snacks, water and other essentials are the hikers responsibility. Suitable for children able to hike 2 mi. unassisted at a leisurely pace. A map will be provided.
Since winter can bring extreme conditions, trip leaders will decide IF cancellation is warranted and if so, will notify registrants by 6 am the previous morning to the hike. So, check your emails the day prior to the scheduled hike.
