All are welcome, suggested donation $10 at the door.

We all want to reduce our water bill and minimize the time required to maintain a beautiful landscape.  This presentation will provide residents with clever ideas, helpful resources, and research-based information that will teach them how to create a handsome landscape, protect natural resources, and reduce maintenance chores using appropriate irrigation and plant choices. Topics will include turf removal, drip irrigation installation, and drought tolerant plant choices.

Kris Moberg-Hendron is a Washington State Naturalist and a WSU Spokane County Master Gardener volunteer who encourages the use of native plants in home landscapes to support local invertebrate and bird populations, as well as to improve the local environment and reduce summer water use. There is an amazing variety of local native plants that create beautiful landscapes using a fraction of the resources required by traditional landscapes. Kris loves sharing that knowledge!

See you at the SPOKANE VALLEY LIBRARY -check that Google gives you the correct location on Herald Rd. and Sprague Ave. This event will be held in the Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room West. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.

Join the DHC for this popular annual event, the spring Buttercup Ramble! Beginning from Camp Caro in the Dishman Hills Natural Area, Board Member and former president Michael Hamilton will lead a walk in search of one of spring's first flowers, the beautiful buttercup while discussing the local geography, rock formations, and the what's happening at DHC.

    I support DHC Events!

This ramble is a slow, meandering pace, family-friendly, and suitable for most ages & abilities. It will be approximately 3 miles roundtrip, with 500 hundred feet of elevation gain. Ground is uneven and has many irregularly spaced rock steps.

We will meet at the lower parking lot at Camp Caro, located at 8602 E Appleway Ave. parking lot at 1pm on Saturday, April 11th. We will gather as a group before heading out and expect to be back at the cars by 3pm.
