Laughter Yoga with Instructor Ganna Ainsworth

        • Join us for Laughter Yoga in honor of Summer Solstice!
        • Summer solstice marks the longest day of the year, filled with sunlight and energy. Laughter can enhance that sense of joy and outward expression.
        • Laughter Yoga doesn’t require a mat, because there are no asanas. Instead, we will practicing deep belly laughter, silliness, and engagement of your imagination and creativity, and mindful breathing. You will need water, as laughter yoga is similar to a cardio exercise, or a lawn chair if you have difficulty standing.

    What: Laughter Yoga

Where: Camp Caro Lodge 8602 E. Appleway Blvd, Spokane Valley, WA

    When: Saturday June 21st, 10am - 11:00am

Laughter Yoga was founded in 1995. Being a relatively new style of yoga, it incorporates breathing and mindfulness present in ancient styles of yoga, such as hatha yoga. Ganna Ainsworth was trained as a Laughter Yoga leader in Nashville in 2009.  She taught Laughter Yoga in Nashville and Chattanooga, TN and now is delighted to share this joyful gift with the wonderful supporters of Dishman Hills Conservancy and the greater Spokane community.

It is amazing to drop your inhibitions and laugh without a reason, and the laughter exercises will help you have an amazing time! No jokes are told, and there are no comedians, but you will have the deepest and most sustained laughter for no reason! Laughter yoga has been shown to bring a slew of positive psychological and physiological benefits - it boosts immune function, helps with chronic pain, improves mood, decreases blood pressure, and even changes personality if practiced regularly

Directions & Parking: From I-90, take exit 285 onto Appleway/Sprague and take a right onto S Sargent Road. Please park in the lower, dirt, parking lot directly to the right when you first pulled onto Sargent Rd then walk up to Camp Caro from the main path leading away from the parking lot. The laughter yoga class will gather in the wooded clearing behind Camp Caro Lodge.

Event will be weather dependent. Please register so you can be aware of cancellations. If having trouble registering, use a browser other than Safari or email Finola at events@dishmanhills.org
