  Where: Stevens Creek Trail Head (9102 S Steven Creek Rd)

  When: Wednesday, October 21st, at 2 PM

  Why: Get outside and enjoy the benefits of being in nature.   

  Hike Description: This hike is moderate to difficult for most with an elevation gain of about 800 feet in one mile. 

  Length: 2 miles.

  Time: About 90 minutes to 2 hours depending upon stops and the number of attendees.

  We will walk in rain, shine, so please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots. This location is higher in elevation and colder than the south hill or valley locations.

  Join Inland Northwest Land Conservancy for Waikiki Takes Root – Day 3, the final community planting day of the season at Waikiki Springs Nature Preserve on Saturday, October 24, from 10am to 2pm.

  This is where the season’s planting comes together. Volunteers, community groups, and partner organizations have been out at the preserve throughout October getting native plants in the ground, and this is the last day we’ll be at it. If you’ve been meaning to get out to Waikiki Springs this fall, this is your chance to be part of it—and if you joined us earlier in the month, come see how much has changed.

  Please plan to park by 9:30am. It’s about a 30-minute walk from parking to the planting area, and we want everyone on site and ready to plant at 10. Staff and signage will be out to point the way.

  Dishman Hills Conservancy will be holding their annual meeting on November 19th. During this meeting members will be allowed to vote on DHC board members.

  Join us for a Post Thanksgiving Hike! 

  Walk off those extra helpings of turkey and stuffing with hike leader Susan Virnig! We will meet at the Camp Caro Lodge at 9 a.m. and leave for a hike that is approximately 3 miles and 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on stops and number of attendees. This is a moderately-paced hike with stops along the way to talk about plants, animals, and rocks. The hike features roughly 800 feet of elevation gain and is rated as moderate to moderate-strenuous difficulty. 

  
  

  Where: Camp Caro Lodge, 8602 E. Appleway Blvd  Spokane Valley, WA

  When: Saturday November 28th, 9 am - 12pm 

  Hike: 3 miles 

  Difficulty:  Moderate for most, difficult for some with rock steps uneven terrain, and approximately 800 feet elevation gain. 

  We will walk in rain, shine, or snow so please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Bring water and a snack.
