Let's Dig in the Dirt
with Philip Schwartz

Join soil scientist Philip Schwartz on Saturday, May 16th at the Wilson Conservation Area for a hands-on, kid-friendly presentation on one of nature’s most important resources, soil. In this workshop, we will expose the layers of soil in a cut bank and learn about identifying the layers and how they are formed. We will be examining the layers with our eyes and under magnification. We will also discuss how the soil determines the vegetation of the site. This presentation is recommended for children 10 and up. No dogs, please. Please register as the presentation will be rescheduled in the event of rain.
