Memorial Day Hike
Exploring the Heights with Susan Virnig
Please read the description below and then register for this hike.
Trail Description - Eagle Peak trail: This will be a 2 1/2 to 3 hour loop hike heading up to Eagle Peak and/or Nimbus Knob, depending on the abilities of the group. We will see a few late-blooming wild flowers and notice how the lower story bushes and plants have recovered after the forest thinning of a couple years ago. We’ll also get a sense of how deep the Ice Age floods were that covered the Spokane valley and most of the Dishman Hills. Bring water and a snack. Rain or shine, we will hike!
Location: Camp Caro dirt parking lot off Appleway
Time: 9 am
Trail Length: About 4.5 miles round trip
Approximate Duration of Hike: 2.5 - 3 hours
Elevation Gain: Approximately 800 feet
