DISHMAN HILLS CONSERVANCY
Hike to the Glenrose Unit of the Dishman Hills Conservation Area including new 1-mile loop.
Saturday September 7th 9am - 1pm
This hike goes to the Glenrose Unit of the Dishman Hills. It is approximately 6.2 miles roundtrip over sometimes steep terrain and moderate difficulty. The trail starts at the end of Thierman Road in the Glenrose area. From here, we will travel the new "family loop" for 0.8 mile. This is a just finished section of nearly flat trail with beautiful views of the south hill. Then we will rejoin the regular trail to either the meadow, or depending on group interest, all the way to the "Cliffs" at about 3 miles. The return trip will be shorter as we will bypass the "family loop."
Because of the distance and elevation changes, the hike is more difficult. Pace will be moderate. There will be conservation information stops.
Dogs are allowed on leash. No parking pass required. Meet in parking lot at the end of Thierman Rd.
Bring hiking poles, snacks, water and dress for the weather. Because of the advanced terrain, boots and traction devices would be most appropriate footwear.
Event is free, but registration is requested.
Note: trip leaders will decide IF cancellation is warranted and notify registrants of cancellation by 6 am the previous morning to the hike. So, check your emails the day prior to the scheduled hike.
